How: Eating (of course, everything is better with food) and then Painting

'Just in case' I die and my paintings become worth something, I'm signing it.

Finished product looks pretty rad.. not too much paint was spilled on the carpet either so points for us! Apparently there is a product that Gwen's mom "uses all the time" and the paint will magically come right out... all right, i trust ya, but whoever spilled it pays for it if it doesn't!

That's all for tonight.. oh wait, take a look at this... remember these camera's? Yes, phoebe really does use this one all the time... awesome

Single White Male Epiphany...and Then Some

Setting the Scene: while out for supper at Red Robins with 12 of our 'closest' kelowna friends, we witnessed a lightening bolt revelation as it hit, he who cannot be named, 'single white male'.

It started out with a casual conversation between two bosom buddies, Carlyn and Roxy who were deciding which to meals they wanted to share.

Wayne (quite disgustedly): You know you 2 don't have to share everything!

Roxy (with sincerity): Wayne, sharing is caring.

Single White Male (with awe): wow, is that how it is? Well no wonder I'm still single!

Carlyn (wisely): yup, when someone catches your eye tonight, just walk right up to her, and say, "hi, I'm he who cannot be named, and I care. Would you like a piece of gum?"

Single White Male (quite stupidly): .....and then she'll share her gum with me?

Carlyn (with exasperation): no you're sharing with her!

SWM: oooooohhhhhh, I get it. And that works? Like she'll chew it and give it back? That seems like a good way to share!

Even tho it appeared to have gone over his head, while we were ordering, SWM asked if anyone would like to share any of his gooey mozza sticks. Carlyn pointed out there were no Single Females..

Alesha (thinking): ummm, hello, over here!

Carlyn: Oh right, Alesha is single! Alesha, would you like to share his gooey sticks?

Alesha (embarassed/flustered/awkward): I care, but I don't share!

Roughing it in kelowna

As we (carlyn, lisa and alesha) listen to the air condition hum in our bunk house, we are impressed with how we are coping with this back to nature experience.

Like seriously, carlyn had to get out of bed to plug in her mac! and the ikea bedspreads are to stinkin hot. In the dark, lit by the glow from the laptop, a fruit fly actually landed on the screen. ew. "lisa, can you kill the fly... ?" we figure she's got the most experience. "and lisa, if the noise from the air conditioner is bugging you, feel free to roll over and turn it off!"

"alesha, did you see the sign on the way in to the bathroom?"

"um... no, what, why, what did it say?"

"all blowdryers and straightners are to be left outside this campsite at all times!"

"what? yeah right, that's dumb, what am i suppose to do with my hair now? i'm trying to pick up the future mr.olson tomorrow.. don't they know that?"

"well, guess he's going to have to wait."

"i'll show you how to wait"

We should really get some sleep tho cuz the eggs benedict from Gatzkey's with melted brie and apple aren't going to order themselves. See you at the crack of dawn.. i mean crack of noon. or maybe crack of the lady sitting by the ice cream store in Golden. Niiiiiice.

Happy Canada Day

Happy Canada Day....

This was how we spent our morning, on the patio of Phils! Candace Seeber is back in Canada for a visit from New Zealand.. lucky us

Lisa and I spent an entire Canada Day afternoon catching up on sleep. Aren't we full of life these days... and feeling a tad guilty about not seizing the day and getting in on the party at Prince's Island Park. Sometimes sleep is important tho. Just think of the energy we will have for the fireworks tonight!!!
