Now It's Officially Summer...

It never feels like summer until I have spent some time in Penticton in the sun and on the beach.

I got to go home last weekend for my beautiful friend Tessa's wedding. It took place at her families vineyard over looking Okanagan Lake. I have never seen a more beautiful setting or a more perfect wedding.

After a day of rain, the clouds finally broke and at 7pm, Tessa and James were married in a small french themed ceremony.

I realize I am being totally sentimental about the whole thing but I can't help it. It was amazing.

This is the entire wedding party, no best man, just Tessa's sister and a flower girl.

Then Heather and I met up with Jesse McFadden in Peachland at Bliss Bakery...

So yup, that's summer so far... the short form version. And I am at work right now.. on a night shift. It's Slooooow. I'm trying not to eat myself awake. Seems like that's what you do to stay awake on night shift.. that and it fights the boredom. Also, it was Phoebe's birthday today so I went to that instead of sleeping.. I'm so smart. But I can't resist cake. I mean, I wanted to celebrate with Phoebe.

There are tictac's in the junk drawer for a dollar. They have been calling my name for a couple hours now... they are tuttie friuty flavor. I want tuttie fruity tic tac's so bad. Guess I will settle for the pineapple I brought but somehow, it's not quite the same!

so wayne picked me up at 6:30 am from Glasgow airport... it was a long 8 hour flight and i was so glad to get off the plane!

he decided that we would not take the major motorways... instead we made our own way to 'the bow' (thats bow as in 'take a bow' not something you might put in your hair)

so as we were going along through the country side, which is very beautiful, i saw a sign for a castle and we decided to check it out... i can't remember what it was called. apperently a guy still lives there.. nice eh! they give tours but the tours start at 1 pm and it was only about 9am.. maybe 10. beautiful sunny day tho.. we had fun exploring. i took so may pictures here. these are only a few.







There are 40 acres or so of manicured lawn... its perfect.

This is Hadrian's Wall built by the Roman's to keep Scotland out in around 122 A.D.
Tres old.
It was originally 3 meters wide, for chariots to drive on, and 5-6 meters high.
After the Roman's left, people took the stone to build houses and other stuff.

Hole in the wall... for drainage?

I love this picture cuz in England, all the farm fences in the country are made of stone not wood.

Heather! -we were going on a hike. it was actually a hot day and I got burn like the white girl I am.

This is 1/3 of the way through our hike.. there was a little village (like 2 houses) and they served up lunch... which was sandwiches and tea!

so.... since scenery pictures aren't that interesting unless there are people in them we decided to do a kick picture!

Where's Waldo?

This is Wayne's nephew Miles. so sO SO cute in wellies and a onesie.

A chicken shed. There are a few chickens in here. They have 2 of these.

The walled city of York! Can I say, good shopping! haha. Wayne had a course he wanted to take here so he dropped Alea, Alan, and I off for the day.

We had lunch in a pub called Wilde's, after Oscar Wilde, with Alan's good friend Ed. He was a very gracious Englishman. "Lovely to meet you"

Apperently one of the most famous streets called "Shambles" google it.

You can't take a picture of the grandeur of a cathedral. There was a funeral going on.. you can see the hearse. Just seconds after, the priests came out with a big cross and incense burners swinging on chains... i couldn't bring myself to snap pictures of someone's funeral tho!

We walked the wall...

Ah the city of Edinburgh, my favorite city of the entire trip. I needed 2 days here at least. This is the Royal mile. The old Castle is at one end and the Palace that the Queen still stays in is at the other. Auntie Debbie's phone booth!

Molly and I spent the day here. We took the train up in the morning. Molly thinks she looks scared in this picture. I just love the background.

Our yummy lunch in 'Spoon'. J.K Rowling's brother-in-law owned it when she wrote Harry Potter so she would come here and sit and write.

Everywhere you look in Edinburgh this is what you see... it amazes me... all the pointy roofs.

'The Bow'.. we played a lot of badminton. That's Darren and Jane (one of the young kids around there who lived in Edmonton for a while)

so these where just the select few.. england is so amazing and i want to go back for sure. had a LOT of laughs and an amazing stay at the Bow. I can't say enough about it so i'll stop now.

Glasses

Hey peeps,
so I got 2 new pairs of glasses and just picked up one of the pairs yesterday.
here is the 1st pair for all to see.
the 2nd pair wasnt ready yet..

wishing it was warm

So i'm just sitting here on my couch. Olive (Nat's cat.. i'm babysitting) decided that my lap would be the best place to sleep and I do not mind one bit. Sometimes there is just something so nice when a cat curls up on your lap.. and it's cold outside.. and i have my coffee and a warm blanket... and my laptop to stalk people on facebook. what? no.. i don't do that. I don't add people on facebook just to pook at their pictures.. i would never do that. I add them due to my genuine interest in their lives and so that i can re-connect with them. Definitely not to just look at their pictures.

anyways, i was going through my pictures and i found some from the summer houseboat trip i was lucky enought o be part of...
here's to wishing it was warm out!
